"Using tools like Adobe After Effects , with the NVIDIA Quadro FX500 by PNY graphics board, allows me to pan and zoom on high resolution images, preview the motion in real time without any rendering, thus speeding up the design process."

Largest, Longest, Tallest, Widest and Grandest Ocean Liner in the World!
When G2 Productions discovered early in 2003 that their next travel video project was going to be used to promote the most expensive cruise ship in the world, The Queen Mary 2, they were delighted. Elation soon turned to trepidation when Gary Gillam, owner of G2 Productions, realized that the deadline for completing this marketing video was June 2003 - six months before the ship was due to be launched. The dilemma - how to produce a captivating travel video for the largest, longest, tallest and widest passenger ship in the Cunard line when it was still in sections?
Real time preview speeds up design process
After a bit of panic, Gillam discovered CAD drawings of the ship that had been developed into photo realistic stills and animations. Gillam went to work incorporating the images into a promotional video. "Using tools like MovingPicture from StageTools , a plug-in to Adobe Premiere Pro, and Adobe After Effects , with the NVIDIA Quadro FX500 by PNY graphics board, allowed me to pan and zoom on the high resolution images, preview the motion in real time without any rendering, significantly speeding up the design process, " states Gillam.
Real time compositing of ship interior saves time
One of the scenes was created from the photo realistic image of a bedroom suite. The camera appears to zoom out from the bed to reveal the entire room including a large window with a view of the sea, with waves and whitecaps and clouds. " For this I had to use multi-layer compositing with real video in the background. I created it all in Adobe Premiere Pro and used After Effects for the animation. I knew it would take a professional graphics solution to get these composites working with motion video and produce the results that I needed", says Gillam. " The NVIDIA Quadro FX by PNY graphics board stood up to the test, there were no crashes, no glitches, no problems with the overlay which I had experienced with other cards and it allowed me to use real time effects with photo realistic images and preview them in high resolution - what a time saver!"
Photo realistic image quality produces stunning results
"The NVIDIA Quadro FX by PNY graphics board is the key to the success of my business. Over the years I have come to rely on the speed, performance and reliability of the NVIDIA Quadro technology. The photo realistic image quality that I needed to obtain from the CAD models is just one of the strengths that this board offers. I use the NVIDIA Quadro FX 500 by PNY graphics board because it is a tool that I can depend on for my production needs today and in the future," concluded Gillam.
Thanks to the creative vision and skills of the producers and the power and efficiencies achieved with the NVIDIA Quadro FX by PNY graphics board, G2 Productions was able to produce three Queen Mary Travel videos before the ship launched on its maiden voyage. The travel agent client was amazed at the quality of the videos. The promotional project proved to be a big success helping clients to visualize the beauty and majesty of the ship and the romance of ocean travel. As a result, the travel agency exceeded expectations, selling out Queen Mary cruises before other travel agencies had started to offer them.
