Lance Bachelder, freelance editor/colorist, selected the NVIDIA Quadro FX 4500 by PNY Technologies to speed
up post production and save money on his latest indie film project "The Passing". Tests conducted by Lance,
using the NVIDIA Quadro FX 4500 graphics board produced exciting results: Rendering was up to 30 times faster
than prior solutions.
As a freelance editor Lance knows that testing and adopting new technologies is critical to being on the cutting
edge and staying competitive. So when Lance was looking for a way to increase his efficiency and productivity,
he decided to check out the ultra high-end NVIDIA Quadro FX 4500 by PNY graphics board.
Improved Performance - Multiple Applications Tested
Lance was seeking a high performance graphics board that would deliver the speed and reliability he needed, with
all the different applications he was expected to use as a freelance editor. "With the NVIDIA Quadro FX 4500 I can
apply a color effect to any or all clips in Adobe® Premiere® Pro 2.0 and keep editing in near realtime, functionality
that was impossible with older hardware and software. Using the NVIDIA Quadro FX 4500 by PNY, even 24fps 720p
CineForm™ .avi's play at 12-15 fps with the Magic Bullet™ Look Suite plug-in applied", stated Bachelder.

Speeds Up Production - Renders 30 Times Faster
Lance tested the NVIDIA Quadro FX 4500 by PNY with Magic Bullet™ Editors V2.0 from Red Giant Software and
the results were astounding. "On a 30 second NTSC clip, with color effects and grading applied, the render
time without the new GPU utilization was 32 minutes and 2 seconds. The same clip using the GPU power of the
NVIDIA Quadro FX 4500 by PNY rendered in just 1 minute and 8 seconds! Almost 30 times faster!" said Lance. "The
biggest benefit of the NVIDIA Quadro FX 4500 by PNY Technologies is time saved - massive time. We get more done
during the workday and are not staying late waiting for renders like we had to in the past," enthused Bachelder.
Dual Monitor Displays - Enhance Production
The NVIDIA Quadro FX 4500 by PNY provides unprecedented rendered image quality for visual effects processing, which
is vital for Lance's work environment. In addition, "the NVIDIA Quadro FX 4500 by PNY provided excellent dual monitor
performance which enhances production," said Bachelder.

Certified for Leading Software Applications
Lance appreciates the confidence that results from PNY Technologies and NVIDIA working closely with
leading independent software vendors to ensure their applications deliver the highest performance possible.
For example, the latest version of Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0 was designed to take full advantage of the GPU on
the NVIDIA Quadro FX 4500 graphics board. Integrating GPU accelerated desktop playback dramatically enhanced
the workflow on Lance's latest project. He used the power of the NVIDIA Quadro FX 4500 by PNY and Magic Bullet
Editors V2.0 to produce all the color timing in 24p HD using Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0 in " The Passing".
"We used the NVIDIA Quadro FX 4500 by PNY to power Red Giant's Magic Bullet for Editors ver.2.0 for near realtime
performance in creating a signature look for "The Passing". We could not have achieved the quality look we wanted
in house without this latest graphics board in our suite," concluded Bachelder.
